Jhal muri is a very famous street food of Kolkata. Jhal means Spicy and Muri means puffed rice. Puffed Rice is a type of mixture that is quick and easy to prepare. Jhalmuri uses green chillies, sour pickle oil and mustard oil instead of chutney. Which gives a different taste. Muri masala also called as Bhaja Mosla is used in Jhalmuri.

Heat a pan, add cumin seeds, keep stirring and roast the cumin seeds well for 1-2 minutes. Then add the rest of the spices, stir constantly on low flame and roast until all the spices change colour.

Now take out the spices in a bowl, and let it cool, then add it to a mixer jar and grind it into a fine powder. So, Jhalmuri Masala is ready.

Now, chop the ingredients for the jhalmuri.

Take Puffed rice in a big bowl and add sprouted chickpeas, moong beans, chanachur and sev.

Now add coconut, chili, potato, onion, and tomato.

Then add coriander, chana dal and muri masala.

Now add black salt, red chilli powder, sour pickle oil.

Then add mustard, lemon juice and mix everything well.

So, Jhalmuri is ready.

Serve it immediately.
