BREAD PAKODA

Bread pakoda/Pakora is popular fried street food/snack of India as well as Pakistan. Bread pakodas usually consumed as a breakfast or tea time snack. Apart from street food joints, bread pakodas are also served in cafes, canteens and eateries. Also known as bread bhaji and they are simply prepared in two ways. One without stuffing and second with potato stuffing. Sometimes, you can add paneer slice along with bread and potato stuffing to make bread paneer pakoda. In other words we can say its a fried sandwich. Bread pakoda is more popular in north India.

Ingredients

25 minutes
8 pakodas
  • 8bread slices
  • Forpotato stuffing
  • 3potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 tbspfinely chopped coriander
  • 1 tbspgreen chilli paste
  • 1/2 tspred chilli powder
  • 1/2 tspchaat masala
  • 1/2 tspaamchur powder
  • As per tasteSalt
  • For pakoda batter
  • 1 cupgram flour
  • 2 tbsprice flour
  • 1 tspred chilli powder
  • 1 tspcarom seeds
  • As Per TasteSalt
  • Otheringredients
  • 1/4 cupgreen chutney
  • As RequiredOil for frying

Steps

    Add all the stuffing ingredients to mashed potato, mix well and keep aside.

    Add all batter ingredients in gram flour and prepare lump-free medium thick batter by adding water.

    Cut the bread slices from center to make a triangle. Spread green chutney on 2 triangles. Then carefully spread potato stuffing on one triangle and then cover it with the second triangle. Now, this is ready to fry.

  4. 4

    Heat oil, dip the prepared sandwich triangle in the prepared batter, and carefully put in heated oil. Deep fry it from both sides and then remove it with a slotted spoon. Continue the same process with the rest of the bread and stuffing.
