Norteño Picadillo

Picadillo made from what I had left in the fridge. Since onions are really expensive here, I used plenty of dehydrated onion I had on hand. With the poblano, cumin, and potato, I thought calling it 'norteño' fit well. One of those improvised dishes that turned out delicious.

Steps
- 1
Remove the seeds and stems from the chiles. Boil them with the tomatillos, garlic, and onion until cooked through. Once cool enough, blend with the bouillon, cumin, and salt until smooth.
- 2
Dice the potato into small cubes and cook in plenty of water with salt until just tender but not too soft. Drain and set aside.
- 3
In a nonstick pot (so you don't need to add oil), add the ground beef, onion powder, garlic, salt, and cumin. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent clumping. Once the meat changes color, add the salt and potatoes. Mix well and add the poblano strips.
- 4
Cover and cook everything together for about 12 minutes over medium-low heat.
