Sev usal recipe | gujrati street food

Firstly, in a pressure cooker add white peas, salt, sugar and water, mix well. Take 4 whistles (as required) on medium flame.

Now, in a pan heat oil, add onion paste and saute it.

Add ginger garlic paste and saute it. Add tomato puree and salt. Add all spices powder to it.

Cover and cook gravy till oil separates from its sides.

Now add 3 cup water and mix well and bring it to a boil.

When the gravy starts boiling, add boiled peas and mix well.

Boil usal on low medium heat for 7-8 minutes.

Usal is properly cooked and the gravy become slightly thick.

Switch off the flame, add lemon juice and coriander leaves, mix well.

Usal is ready to serve.

In a pan heat oil, add onion- tomato gravy and saute till oil separates from its sides.

Then add kashmiri red chilli powder and usal masala. Mix well.

Tari is ready.

In a bowl, add prepared usal and top it with tari, sev and chopped onions and coriander leaves.

Finally, serve usal with tari, masala sev, onion salad and pav.
