Happy Makara Sankranti to everyone. Today on January 14 th , in my state Odisha we are celebrating Makar Sankranti . This day is called onset of Uttarayan which means the moving of Sun to Northern hemisphere. Different parts of India celebrate in many ways with great enthusiasm. In Odisha we prepare Makara Chawal (according to Makar Sankranti) and offer to Sun God. This is a harvest festival for us also.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 bowlGovind bhog scented rice (kheer chawal) soaked
  • 150 gmfresh cottage cheese
  • 100 gmfresh grated coconut
  • 1/2 cupboiled milk at room temperature
  • 2 Tbspcondensed milk
  • 2green cardamoms
  • 3black peppercorns
  • 1/2 tspdry ginger powder (sounth)
  • 2 cloves(laung)
  • 1/2 pinchsalt
  • 1 pinchedible camphor

Steps

    Arrange all the ingredients.

    Take a grinder jar. Add all ingredients and grind by pulse.
