Cabbage Poriyal
Steps
- 1
Heat a pan; add 2 tbsp of coconut oil (you can even use refined oil). Then add some mustard seeds, few curry leaves, some chopped green chillies and soaked chana dal in it. Let th cook for about a minute.
- 2
Then add chopped onion to it. Then cook for about 2 minutes until the onion becomes little mushy.
- 3
Now add shredded cabbage into it. Mix it well. Now lower the flame, cover the pan and let it cook for about 5 minutes. Now remove the lid and stir it in between; if required you can add little water to it (about 2 tbsp) so that the it doesn't gets burnt and the cabbage gets cooked very well. Now again cover the pan and let it cook for another 5 to 7 minutes on a low flame.
- 4
Once again open the lid and add grated coconut in it and combine everything well. Once everything is mixed properly, cover the pan & let it cook for 10 minutes more; donot forget to stir in between.
- 5
Finally add some chopped corriender and give it a good mix. Now switch off the flame. Your Cabbage Poriyal is now ready to serve. Serve it with some steamed rice or rotis of your choice. Try this once. You will definitely love this.
