Ingredients

30 minutes
4 servings
  • 2medium Raw Bananas boiled, peeled and mashed
  • 2medium potatoes boiled, peeled and mashed
  • 2medium onion chopped finely
  • 1 tspginger grated and 3-4 cloves garlic minced
  • 3-4green chillies chopped finely
  • 1/2 tspred chilli flakes
  • 1/4th tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4th tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsproasted cumin powder
  • 1 tbspwhite sesame seeds
  • 1/4th tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbspraisins
  • 3 tbspgramflour
  • 2 tbsprice flour
  • 1/2 tspgaram masala
  • 1/4th tsp hing / asafoetida
  • 1/2salt or to taste
  • 1/2 tspChaat Masala
  • 1 tbspcoriander chopped
  • As required oil for frying

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Cut into thick slices and boil,steam or pressure cook the bananas and potatoes with their peel on upto 2 whistles.Switch off heat and let the pressure release on its own.Once cooled, peel the skin of both the bananas and potatoes. Mash both of them in a bowl with a masher.They should be soft but not mushy.

    Add green chillies, chopped onion, grated ginger garlic,chopped coriander and all the spices to it and mix well to form a smooth dough.Now add gramflour, rice flour, cumin seeds,sesame seeds, raisins, hing and knead to form a smooth dough.

    Grease your hands with oil and shape cutlets out of the dough.Give them any shape as per choice.Heat oil and fry them in batches on low to medium flame. Turn them occasionally until they are golden brown on both sides.

    Remove the cutlets on a kitchen towel to drain excess oil.Serve them hot as an appetizer or snack with tomato sauce, mint coriander chutney or any dip of choice.
