Ensaimada Baklava
A fusion of two desserts. Why not?
Steps

Start with the ensaimada dough linked in the ingredients.

Roll out the dough and spread with butter as usual. Evenly spread the baklava filling on top.

Roll it up like an ensaimada. Continue as usual: let it rest, stretch, and roll again.

Let it rise overnight, then bake in the morning.

Meanwhile, make the syrup as described in the baklava recipe.

Remove the ensaimada from the oven and, while it's still hot, drizzle with the syrup.

Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top and let it cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar and enjoy this fusion dessert.
