Ingredients

  1. 4large apples, peeled, cored, and slices thin
  2. 1 tspground cinnamon
  3. 3/4 cupbutter or margarine, room temperature
  4. 3/4 cupgranulated sugar
  5. 3 tspvanilla sugar
  6. 1egg
  7. 1 3/4 cupsall purpose flour
  8. 3 tspbaking powder
  9. Crumble
  10. 1/3 cupgranulated sugar
  11. 3/4 cupall purpose flour
  12. 6 tbspmargarine or softened butter
  13. 1/2 tspground cinnamon
  14. 1/4 tspsea salt

    Preheat oven to 350. Grease 10" springform pan with butter or margarine

    Combine apples and cinnamon in sauce pan and cook on low for 10 minutes, stirring often.

    Combine butter (or margarine), sugar, vanilla sugar, and egg in a large bowl and blend with handheld mixer until smooth and creamy.

    Mix flour and baking powder in a separate bowl. Add flour mixture one 1/4 cup at a time and blend at low speed.

    Make crumble: in medium sized bowl mix together sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in butter or margarine until crumbly and set aside.

    Transfer dough to pan and press down to create the bottom crust. Add apple slices leaving small gap around the edge of pan. Sprinkle crumble on top.

    Bake 60 minutes until crumble browns on top. Cool for 5 minutes, then run knife around outer edge to help release from pan.
