Steve’s Homemade Oatmeal
Good hot or cold
Steps
- 1
Begin with steel or rolled oats. Pictured is the brand I prefer.
- 2
Use the package to decide how much you want to make.
- 3
The trick is to add half of the water suggested and the other half oatmilk.
- 4
Bring water and milk to a rolling boil before adding oats.
- 5
Add in the oats and reduce heat to medium-low while stirring every minute or so for about 10 minutes.
- 6
Next add in your fruit and pecans while reducing to low heat. Lastly add in about 1/2 cup of honey for every two cups of oats.
- 7
Mix all ingredients together for another 2 minutes on low heat.
- 8
Remove from heat and let sit at least 2mins before eating. Also very good refrigerated and served cold.
