Chana Dal Pulao is a traditional Punjabi Cuisine recipe specially prepared on festive occasions like Lohri and Dusshera. This recipe is a great one-pot meal idea for the weekend lunch or the light summer meal.

👉Wash rice 2-3 times in running water. Soak in water for 10 minutes.

👉peel, wash and chop onion lengthwise.
Wash and grate tomato.
Wash and soak Chana dal for 30 minutes - 3
👉Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds, black pepper seeds, cloves, cinnamom sticks, black cardamom and saute in ghee for 2 minutes.

👉Add chopped onions and saute till pinkish. Add grated tomatoes and saute for 1 minutes.

👉Add rice and soaked dal and turmeric powder, salt, pulav masala and mix.

👉Add water and stir. Place the lid and cook till 2 whistles and switch off the flame. Let pressure releases automatically.

👉Open the lid and stir rice.

👉Serve hot with mango pickle and salad.
