Thinly slice the onion.

Put the water and onion in a pot and bring to a boil, then add the dried wakame.

Once the onion is soft, add the chicken bouillon powder, sesame oil (see note below), soy sauce, and black pepper to season.

Add the toasted sesame seeds and it's ready to serve.
