Cooking Instructions
- 1
Place candy cheese inside and shape the rice into small rice balls. Use less rice!
- 2
Wrap the pork shabu-shabu meat around the rice ball once vertically and once horizontally. Use about 2 slices per rice ball, ensuring the rice is covered.
- 3
After wrapping the meat, press firmly to shape. Season with salt and pepper, then place in a plastic bag with flour, close the bag, and shake.
- 4
In a pan with oil, cook without rolling until browned, then gradually shift to cook evenly.
- 5
Once the meat is cooked, add mirin and soy sauce, coating everything evenly.
- 6
You can adjust the size for lunch boxes and even make bear shapes!

I wanted to make hearty and filling onigiri that would be satisfying even when there aren't a lot of side dishes in the bento box.If you roll the meat wrapped rice balls around while the meat is uncooked it will fall off, so cook it one section at a time. When all sides are browned, it's ok to roll them around. If you clean the frying pan with paper towels once the meat is cooked before adding the flavoring ingredients, the rice balls won't burn so easily. Recipe by ss mama cookpad.japan -
