Ingredients

Makes 8 sandwich halves
  • 4large eggs
  • 8 slicessandwich bread
  • 1/2–1 tablespoon (10–15g) butter
  • 1/4 cup★ mayonnaise (about 60g)
  • 1heaping 1/2 teaspoon ★ sugar
  • to taste ★ salt and pepper
  • 1pinch, if you like ★ MSG (optional, recommended for extra flavor)
  • as neededbutter (for spreading on bread)

Steps

  1. 1

    Boil the eggs in boiling water for 10–11 minutes.

    This recipe uses large eggs straight from the fridge.

  2. 2

    Once the eggs are done, cool them under running water and peel them while still warm.

    Chop the eggs finely.

    You can also mash them with a fork if you prefer.

    While the eggs are still warm, add the butter and mix until combined.

    Next, add all the ★ seasonings and mix well.

    If the flavor is too mild, adjust the seasonings here!

    Spread a thin layer of butter on the bread. Divide the egg mixture into 4 portions and place in the center of 4 slices of bread, piling it up generously. Top with the remaining bread slices and gently press the edges.

    Carefully cut each sandwich in half with a knife.

    Placing the filling in the center helps prevent it from spilling out the sides.
