Steps

Wash all the 3 dals & rice 2 - 3 times in clean water. Soak rice & dals together in water for a minimum of 6 hours or overnight.

Next morning,remove the soaked water & grind rice & dal using very little water. Add green chillies & ginger & blend to a fine paste. Keep aside.

Just before making dosa, add asafoetida & salt & give the batter a rigorous mix to make the batter light & fluffy.

Chop onions, coriander & green chillies finely. Add salt & mix. Keep aside.

Heat & grease a dosa pan with oil & wipe it clean with a tissue. Pour a laddleful of batter in the hot tawa & spread it 6" in diameter in a circular motion.

Spread the stuffing evenly all over the dosa & press a little with a spatula.

Cover & cook the dosa till the underside is done. Flip & cook the other side till golden & crispy. Serve the dosa with rasam / sambar / chutney. Enjoy a nutritious breakfast which is quick to make.

Note : You can make uttapam with the same batter. Spread the batter a little thick to make uttapams. Cook both sides till done.
