Ingredients

40 minutes
3 servings
  • For Outer layer
  • 1 kgpotatoes
  • 2 tbspTapkir (Arrowroot)
  • Salt to taste
  • For Stuffing
  • 1boiled potato
  • 1/2 cupdesiccated coconut
  • 2 tbsppeanuts(crushed)
  • 1 teaspoonred chili powder
  • 1 teaspoongaram masala
  • 2 teaspoonpowdered sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • 1lemon (juice)
  • 1 teaspoonginger green chili paste
  • 2 teaspoonschopped coriander
  • 1/2 cupdry arrowroot/ tapkir (to coat the patties)
  • 2 cupOil for frying
  • To serve - dates tamarind chutney and green chutney

Steps

40 minutes
  1. 1

    For outer layer- First of all, boil the potatoes, peel them and mash them. Add arrowroot and salt and mix.

    Now take the ingredients of the stuffing as mention above. Mix it well Take a small portion from the masala and make small balls.

    Take a large portion from the potato mixture and make patties filled with the stuffing masala.(cover with outer layer).Coat it with tapkir/ arrowroot flour. Heat oil in a pan and fry all the patties on medium flame until golden.

    The Farali patties are ready. Serve them with Farali green chutney and imli chutney.
