Ingredients

  • Batter:
  • 2 cupChilaka Moong Dal
  • 1 tspSalt or to taste
  • as neededWater
  • Garnishing:
  • 1 cupSpinach (Finely Chopped)
  • 1/2 cupBell Pepper (Finely Chopped)
  • 2 tbspGreen Chilli (Finely Chopped)
  • 1 tbspSprinkle Masala
  • Oil for Saute

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Rinse and soak the Chilaka Moong Dal in water for 3–4 hours or overnight.

    Drain the soaked dal and grind it into a smooth batter using minimal water.
    Add salt to taste and mix well to achieve a pouring consistency (not too runny, not too thick).

    Heat a non-stick or cast-iron pan and lightly grease it with oil.
    Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and spread it gently in a circular motion to form a thik pancake. Drizzle a little oil around the edges.

    Spread chopped veggies over it and cook on medium heat until the bottom turns golden brown. Sprinkle special masala over it.

    Flip and cook the other side until crisp and cooked through.

    Serve hot with green chutney, curd, or tomato ketchup.
