Ingredients

20 minutes
4-6 ppl
  1. 6-8 cupsabacha
  2. Water
  3. 1onion
  4. 1-2tomatoes medium
  5. 1cucumber or 3 garden eggs
  6. 4maggi cubes
  7. Salt to taste
  8. 2scotch bonnet peppers
  9. 2large cloves of garlic
  10. 1 tspehuru or nutmeg
  11. 1uda whole (optional)
  12. 1 tbspoil
  13. 3/4 cuppalm oil
  14. 1/2 cupwater and 1/2 tsp baking powder
  15. 1 cupugba
  16. 1 cupbitter leave or green of ur choice
  17. 4 piecesPomo (skin from head of cow) cut into smaller pieces

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Take the onion cut into slices and then halves, slice the cucumber and the tomatoes. Boil enough water that will cover the abacha. When water boils turn off and put abacha in so it’s totally covered. After 5 minutes put in siv/strainer set aside. Boil Pomo and let simmer for 20 minutes

    Chop garlic, scotch bonnets. In the 1 tbsp of oil fry garlic, bonnets, maggi,uda, ehuru/nutmeg. Add the baking powder and water mixture and the palm oil to the frying pan. It should get thick. Add in the ugba and bitter leaf after a minute turn off heat. Add abacha and mix until it is all covered completely. Salt to taste.

    Add meat of ur choice. We prefer smoked fish but I have fried chicken. No pomo this time 😢 Enjoy 😉
