I was so surprised BY JUST HOW GOOD this turned out. I mean it’s tinned seafood.

But the smokiness of it with the spicy savoriness of the other ingredients just made the perfect pasta for a slightly cold day when all you have is pantry ingredients.

Ingredients

3 servings
  1. 400 gCavatelli (or short pasta of choice)
  2. 1can, Smoked mussels
  3. 1can, Smoked oysters
  4. 4cloves, minced Garlic
  5. 1small, chopped Onion
  6. 1 tspSmoked paprika
  7. 1 pinchred pepper flakes
  8. 1 tspRegular paprika
  9. 400 gCanned cherry tomatoes
  10. 100 mlWhite wine
  11. 2 tbspOlive oil
  12. to taste Salt and pepper
  13. for garnish Fresh parsley

Cooking Instructions

    Cook cavatelli in salted water until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water, then drain.

    In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté garlic, red pepper flakes and onion until soft.

    Add smoked mussels and oysters; cook for 2 minutes.

  4. 4

    Stir in smoked paprika, regular paprika, and canned cherry tomatoes.

  5. 5

    Pour in white wine and reserved pasta water; simmer for 10 minutes.

  6. 6

    Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. 7

    Toss cavatelli with the sauce until well coated.

  8. 8

    Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
