Kibbeh bil Sanieh (Baked Kibbeh)

First, prepare the filling: Finely chop the onions and sauté them with 1 tablespoon olive oil and a pinch of salt. Add them to the ground meat in a pan over heat until the color changes. Add salt, spices, and pomegranate molasses, and cook for 10 minutes, stirring. Toast the nuts in 1 tablespoon oil, add them to the filling, stir, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Meanwhile, prepare the kibbeh mixture (see the detailed recipe for grilled kibbeh on the page).

Grease a large baking dish well with olive oil. Divide the kibbeh mixture in half. Spread the first half evenly in the dish, then add the filling. Spread the second half of the kibbeh on a piece of plastic wrap, then flip it over the filling, or spread it in pieces to cover the filling completely.

Cut the kibbeh in the dish as desired and garnish with pine nuts or almonds. Pour olive oil over the top.

Bake in a preheated oven for about 30 minutes.

You can serve it with plain yogurt or salad.
