Ingredients

1 hour cooking, 6 hours soaking
Serves 4 servings
  • 1 1/2 cupsglutinous rice (about 300 grams)
  • 1Chinese sausage (lap cheong)
  • 3 1/2 ouncespork roll (about 100 grams, Vietnamese chả lụa or substitute with pork bologna)
  • 2scallions
  • 2 tablespoonsvegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoonsfried shallots
  • 1/2 teaspoonsalt

Steps

1 hour cooking, 6 hours soaking
  1. 1

    Soak the glutinous rice for 4 hours, then rinse well and drain.

  2. 2

    Steam the rice with a pinch of salt for about 30 minutes until tender.

    Steam the Chinese sausage until cooked, then slice thinly. Cut the pork roll into thin strips.

    Chop the scallions and sauté them in vegetable oil until fragrant.

    Mix the sautéed scallions into the sticky rice and fluff to combine.

    Spoon the sticky rice onto a plate, top with Chinese sausage, pork roll, and sprinkle with fried shallots. Serve with soy sauce on the side.
