Fried plantains with egg is a Dominican recipe 🇩🇴✨ that's very easy to make and not as complicated as other recipes. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do ❤️☺️✨

First, peel the plantain. If you’re not sure how, make a shallow cut along one edge and peel it off with your hands. Slice the plantain into rounds.

Pour the oil into a pot or deep skillet and heat for 2 minutes.

Once the oil is hot, add the plantain slices and fry for 2 minutes. When one side is golden, flip them to brown the other side for another 2 minutes, then remove them from the oil.

Mash the fried plantains using a mortar and pestle or a sturdy glass. Here, I’m using a mortar and pestle.

Return the mashed plantains to the pot and fry again for 1 minute.

Place the plantains on a plate, sprinkle with a pinch of salt, then fry the egg and add a pinch of salt to it as well.

Finally, place the egg on the plate with the fried plantains and enjoy! ✨
