Wedding style fruit chaat

When I think about iftar in our home, I don’t just think about food — I think about moments. The quiet few seconds before the adhan. The way everyone instinctively reaches for dates first. And then, somewhere between tradition and celebration, there’s always a big, beautiful bowl of fruit chaat.
Wedding style fruit chaat is all about abundance, balance, and presentation. It is colourful and layered, lightly sweet but slightly tangy, fragrant with chaat masala, garnished generously, and served chilled and
beautifully arranged. It’s not just chopped fruit tossed together. It’s curated.
The key is cutting everything evenly — small, elegant cubes. It makes the bowl look luxurious.
Here’s where it transforms from “fruit salad” to fruit chaat: A squeeze of fresh lemon juice, a sprinkle of chaat masala, a pinch of black salt, a drizzle of honey or a touch of sugar syrup.
Mix gently — you want everything coated, not crushed.
Let it chill for at least 30–45 minutes before serving. Wedding fruit chaat is always cold, never at room temperature served in a glass trifle dish, or a wide white serving platter, and even in individual dessert cups
Iftar doesn’t have to be extravagant to feel special. Sometimes, it’s just about taking something simple — like fruit — and treating it like it belongs at a wedding.
