Wash moong dal and add to a pressure cooker with water, turmeric, and salt.

Cook for 1 whistle, then turn off the heat and let it cool naturally.

Transfer cooked dal to a serving bowl.

Heat ghee in a small pan. Add whole red chillies and cumin seeds; let them splutter.

Add garam masala and red chilli powder to the ghee, stir quickly.

Immediately pour the hot tempering over the dal. Enjoy the aroma and sizzling sound.

Tips
When you pour the tempering masala over the dal, the aroma of garam masala and red chilli powder comes out with the sounds of tadka.
