Ingredients

2-serving
  • 1 CupRice and Toor Dal (3/4 cup rice & 1/4 cup dal)
  • 1Onion (chopped)
  • 1Tomato (chopped)
  • 2Garlic (chopped)
  • 1Curry Leaves Stalk
  • 1/2 TeaspoonGaram Masala
  • 1/4 TeaspoonRed Chilli Powder
  • 1/4 TeaspoonTurmeric Powder
  • 2Red Chilli
  • 1/4 TeaspoonMustard and Cumin (each)
  • 2each Clove, Cinnamon and Cardamom
  • 3 CupsWater
  • To Taste Salt
  • 2 TablespoonsOil

Steps

  1. 1

    Soak rice and daal mixture for 10 minutes. Heat the oil in a pressure cooker, add mustard, cumin, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom. After a few seconds, add onion, curry leaves, red chillies and saute till onion turns transparent.

  2. 2

    Add garlic, tomato and after 2 minutes add all the powders, water, salt and rice mixture. Pressure cook for 2 whistles and 2-5 minutes in low flame.

    Serve with fresh curd and scrambled egg, papadam or pickle. Enjoy!!
