Lightly fry the broken wheat in a pan and keep aside

Pressure cook the fried broken wheat in a cooker with 2 cups of water

Boil one cup of water, and add the ground jaggery and continuously stir the mixture in medium flame till all the jaggery melts and forms a syrup.

Grind the grated coconut in a mixer along with cardamom in to a smooth paste. Alternatively, you can use fresh coconut milk flavored with cardamom powder

Add boiled broken wheat to the boiling jaggery syrup and stir continuously for 4-5 minutes in medium flame

To this, add coconut paste/coconut milk and stir for 2-3 minutes in medium flame

Fry the cashew, raisins and cloves in ghee and garnish. Your Payasam is ready to be served.
