Chicken dishes are very tasty and enjoyed by the young and old alike.They are high in proteins , vitamins, minerals and rich in fibre .As chicken dishes are familiar to all, I have not introduced chicken items in my blog so far. But this week,I got a message from my dear niece, a barrister in Virginia asking me to upload a recipe for butter chicken which goes with chapattis. So I have specially concentrated to prepare the dish in the most healthy and easiest way and in Indian style too....

Butter chicken (indian Style)

Ingredients

12 servings
  1. 1 kgchicken ( cleaned and cut to small pieces, preferably breast)
  2. For Marination
  3. 1 tbspPepper powder
  4. 1 tbspginger-garlic paste
  5. 1 tspsalt Yoghurt, 2tbsp
  6. 1 tspgaram masala
  7. For Gravy
  8. 4 nossavala (cut to small pieces)
  9. 3tsps ginger grated
  10. 2 tspsgarlic grated
  11. 1 tbspcashew-nuts
  12. big-3 Tomatoes
  13. 4tsps Corriander powder
  14. 3tsps chillie kashmere powder
  15. 1 tbspgaram masala
  16. 1 tbspcoriander leaves
  17. Other items
  18. 50 gmsbutter
  19. Methi kasthuri (optional)

Cooking Instructions

    Chicken pieces are marinated with,yoghurt,, salt,pepper powder and keep it for a few hours till they become soft.

    Prepare the gravy as follows.Pour 3 tbsp. of oil in a thick bottomed pan.Saute savala,ginger, garlic,corriander leaves, cashew nuts and tomato,all cut to small pieces. When the savala is soft and starts turning brown and the water is dried up,add coriander powder,chillie powder, garam -masala and immediately take out from the stove so that the chillie powder may not be over fried. Cool and grind the mixture to a smooth paste..

    Heat 2 tbsp. of butter or oil in a cooking pan and spread the cooked chicken pieces one by one and keep it closed in low flame,for about 10 minutes.When the chicken starts frying turn each piece both sides.Now pour the thick gravy into the pan and mix well and cook in low flame for 5 to 10 minutes..Add more salt if required and water to the required consistency.The gravy should be thick.Fold in the butter or fresh milk cream on the top of the curry.You can...
