Pushta Paak (Mandvi Paak)
Steps
- 1
Lightly roast the mandvi seeds in a pan until aromatic. Let them cool.
- 2
Once cooled, rub the seeds to remove the husk, then grind them into a coarse powder using a mixer.
- 3
In a separate pan, add sugar and enough water to just cover it. Cook to make a syrup, aiming for a one-string consistency (not too thick).
- 4
Add the ground groundnut seeds to the syrup. Mix well.
- 5
Add 1 tbsp ghee and stir to combine.
- 6
Pour the mixture into a greased tray or plate. Flatten evenly.
- 7
Let it set for 1 hour, then cut into pieces.
Tips
Ensure the syrup reaches the right consistency to avoid a hard texture. You can also add cardamom for extra flavor.
