Ingredients

  • 500 gground beef
  • 1onion chopped
  • 4 clovesgarlic minced
  • 1small green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 (28 ounce)can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (16 ounce)canned tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cupred wine
  • 1 (6 ounce)can tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoonsdried oregano
  • 2 teaspoonsdried basil
  • 1 teaspoondried parsley
  • 1 teaspoonsalt
  • 1/2 teaspoonblack pepper - or to taste
  • 1and half teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoonpaprika
  • 1/2 teaspoonred pepper flakes or to taste

Steps

  1. 1

    Combine the ground beef, onion, garlic, and green pepper in a large saucepan. Cook and stir until meat is browned and the vegetables are tender.

    Drain the grease

  3. 3

    Stir diced tomatoes, tomato sauce and tomato paste into the pan. Season with the oregano, basil, salt, pepper, brown sugar, paprika and pepper flakes.

  4. 4

    On a very slow simmer cook the source for about one hour stirring occasionally. Keep a low simmer as the longer you cook the better it will taste
