Ingredients

  1. 2 cupslong-grain white rice (about 400 grams)
  2. 5 cupswater (about 1.2 liters)
  3. 1tomato
  4. 1small piece of onion
  5. 1 sprigcilantro (not the whole bunch)
  6. 1 stickbutter (about 4 tablespoons or 56 grams)
  7. 1 splashoil
  8. 2tomato bouillon cubes

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat the 5 cups of water in a small pot. Meanwhile, in a separate saucepan, sauté the rice with a splash of oil and the stick of butter.

    Once the water is hot and the rice is lightly fried, blend the tomato, onion, cilantro, and tomato bouillon cubes with the hot water.

    Carefully pour the blended mixture into the rice. Reduce the heat to low and cook for about 20 minutes, or until the water is absorbed and the rice is fully cooked.
