Ingredients

  1. 375 gmixed fruit (with or without peal)
  2. 250 mlhot tea
  3. 100 glight brown sugar
  4. 50 gbutter
  5. 1egg
  6. 3 tspcinnamon
  7. 225 gself raising flour

Steps

  1. 1

    Make the tea in a jug then measure your dried fruit into a large bowl.

  2. 2

    Pour the hot tea over the dried fruit and mix it well. Cover the bowl and leave it to soak overnight if possible,I soaked mine for 1 hour they plumped up nicely.

    Cream the butter and the sugar in another bowl

  4. 4

    Add the egg and beat well

  5. 5

    Sift in the flour and mix

  6. 6

    Add fruit and the remaining tea and mix well

  7. 7

    Grease your slow cooker or line with baking paper

  8. 8

    Pour in mixture and cook on high for 1 and a half - 2 hours. Or untill you've tested the centre with a skewer.

I've made another one but added glacier cherries and soaked the fruit in brandy instead of hot tea
