Cooking Instructions
- 1
Peal portugal and de-seed it. You can clip inner middle of it with kitchen scissors, to make it easier to remove seeds.
- 2
Place in blender until liquified or pureed according to your blender options.
- 3
I love mine with the pulp still there. However if you don't want the pulp use cheese cloth or sieve to squeeze out juice into a container.
- 4
Return portugal juice to blender then add the pineapple in heavy syrup and orange juice.
- 5
Add vanilla essence, ice blend and enjoy.
- 6
If you like you can add vodka to it as well but must contain no pulp or very little. It taste great either way i choose alcohol free.

Mamajuana Sunrise Mamajuana Sunrise
This bottle of Mamajuana has been in my home for about a year now. Every time it runs out, we just add some more rum or whiskey to it and let it sit for a few days to absorb the flavours in the bottle! its like a bottomless bottle of Mamajuana! You cant get this anywhere so I suggest bringing back a bottle next time you go on Vacay if you cant find it in your local liquor store. Enjoy! Queen_0fCooks93 -
Portuguese Rice Portuguese Rice
Every summer, my parents would take all of us up to Cape Cod for a few weeks. I love the food up there. Between all of the different fresh fish and the great Portuguese dishes, I am in heaven. One of my favorite places to eat is John's Foot Long in Provincetown.I am allergic to shellfish so I have never had it, but I heard that their lobster roll is one of the best. Judging by all of their other dishes, I would not doubt that. My favorite dish of theirs is their Portuguese Rice. I have been trying to find a similar recipe to theirs, but it is impossible. Along the way, I have combined a few recipes that I have found and came up with one that I like a lot.It is nothing similar to John's in taste, but it is still very, very good. Definitely worth the try. #mycookbookEnjoy! J.A.B. -
Portuguese steaks in the sauce Portuguese steaks in the sauce
Ah, Portuguese cuisine, is a perfect marriage of rich flavors and intense tastes. Steaks in Portuguese sauce are an excellent example - a delicious combination of tender meat, aromatic sauce, and subtle notes of port wine. The recipe begins by pounding the steaks, then letting the meat is seared quickly in a hot pan, before being removed and set aside to rest with salt. The sauce is then prepared by adding garlic, bay leaves, paprika, and pepper to the same pan. Once the garlic is golden brown, the spirits are added to deglaze, then the sauce is reduced until it is thick and flavorful. Finally, the steaks are returned to the pan with the sauce and reheated together to soak up the sauce's flavor. Served with a slice of dry-cured ham, this dish can be accompanied by rice, french fries, or even homemade chips for a tasty and satisfying meal.So if you're looking for a recipe that combines tender meat, rich flavors, and subtle notes of port wine, Portuguese steaks in the sauce are for you. Follow the steps below for a delicious and easy-to-prepare meal. Bifana -

Portuguese Rice Pudding Portuguese Rice Pudding
This is the recipe my Vavo (Grandmother) would make for dessert on Sundays, when we would all gather at her house for dinner. It may differ from mainland Portugal, my Grandmother was from the Azores. All I can say is when the recipe says do not stir the pot, resist the urge, don't do it. My grandmother had me standing for 2 hours stirring to make sure hers did not stick when I made this mistake. Thomas Panchaud
