Ingredients

  • 1 kgHake
  • 500 mlVinegar
  • 3Onions
  • 10 mlMixed Pickling Spice
  • 15 mlMaizena
  • 1 mlCurry Powder
  • 3 mlCayenne Pepper
  • 375 mlWater (250ml & 125ml)
  • 10 mlTurmeric
  • 15 mlSugar

Steps

  1. 1

    Fry hake in batter until golden

  2. 2

    Boil sliced onions in vinegar, 250ml water & 10ml pickling spice for 5min

  3. 3

    Add the remaining dry ingredients with another 125ml water and simmer for 3 minutes

  4. 4

    Pour mixture over fish & allow to stand for 2-3 days
