Momma's French toast sticks

I like to skip the syrup and eat them straight, but for those that love syrup, they're great for dipping! (Also you can make a huge batch ahead of time and freeze them for easy heat and eat breakfasts for school days!)

I like to skip the syrup and eat them straight, but for those that love syrup, they're great for dipping! (Also you can make a huge batch ahead of time and freeze them for easy heat and eat breakfasts for school days!)
Steps
- 1
Heat pan to medium low
- 2
In a bowl whisk eggs, milk, vanilla extract, sugar and nutmeg
- 3
Cut each piece of bread into 4 sticks
- 4
Dip bread pieces into egg mixture and fry in coconut oil until golden brown.
- 5
Use whatever kind of syrup you like and enjoy.
- 6
You can play with the flavor profile a bit if you want. Instead of vanilla extract you can use orange extract and chocolate syrup etc. Etc. Etc.
