Ingredients

  • 1 lbMild Italian Sausage (ground)
  • 2 tbspExtra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1Fennel Bulb (diced)
  • 1/2 largeSweet Onion (diced)
  • 1/4 tspSalt
  • 1Pepper (1/8 tsp)
  • 1Habanero Pepper (remove stem, seeds)
  • 1/4Dry White Wine
  • 1/4 tspDried Oregano
  • 28 ozDiced Tomatoes
  • 4 ozTomato Sauce
  • 1/3 cupChicken Stock
  • 2 tbspFresh Basil
  • 1/4 cupHeavy Whipping Cream
  • 1/3 cupParmesan Cheese

Steps

  1. 1

    Brown the Italian sausage over medium heat then set aside in bowl.

  2. 2

    Add Olive Oil to pan. Add diced fennel and onion. Salt and pepper. Allow fennel and onion to saute until onion is translucent.

  3. 3

    Deseed habanero and toss into pan without dicing. Allow it to cook for a few minutes until it appears to soften then crush garlic and add it to the pan.

  4. 4

    Add white wine, oregano and cook for a couple minutes then add tomatoes, tomato sauce, chicken stock. Cook sauce until it has reduced (about 30 minutes on low simmer).

  5. 5

    In pot, bring water to boil and cook 12-14oz angel hair pasta according to box directions.

  6. 6

    Using hand blender/chopper or food professor, blend spaghetti sauce until smooth.

  7. 7

    Add whipping cream, fresh basil and cooked Italian sausage to pan and bring heat back up to medium.

  8. 8

    Sprinkle in parmesan cheese and stir until fully melted.

  9. 9

    Pour over pasta and enjoy!

hey so I wanna make this tonight for my brother and I and I'm confused on what to do with the pepper. I cut it in half deseed than toss it in? do I take it out at any time?
