Ingredients

  1. Maida/ all purpose flour - 1 and 1/4 cups
  2. 1/4 cupMawa/ khoya -
  3. 2 tablespoonsChopped mixed dry fruits -
  4. Sugar - 1 cup for making syrup plus 1 tablespoon for stuffing
  5. Ghee - 4 tablespoons for dough plus remaining for frying
  6. 1/2 cupWater/ pani -

Steps

  1. 1

    Add maida and ghee in a bowl and make a soft dough by adding little water to it. Rest for 10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Mix all the ingredients of stuffing (mawa, sugar and chopped dry nuts).

  3. 3

    Divide the dough into 12 equal parts and roll them like thin rotis/ chapatis

  4. 4

    Take a roti, put 1 teaspoon of stuffing at the center of the roti and cover another roti and fold the edges to make a design of chandrakala.

  5. 5

    Meanwhile heat enough ghee in a pan and fry the chandrakala sweet on slow flame till they become golden and crispy.

  6. 6

    Make a 2 string syrup in a pan by adding water and sugar.

  7. 7

    Dip the fried chandrakalas in sugar syrup for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, take out chandrakala from the syrup.

  8. 8

    Delicious sweet 'Chandrakala' is ready to be served!!
