Ingredients

  1. 1 cupRava/ semolina/ sooji -
  2. 1 cupCurd/ dahi -
  3. 1/2 cupWater/ pani -
  4. 1/2 teaspoonBaking powder -
  5. 1/2 teaspoonEno -
  6. to tasteSalt/ namak

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix rava, curd and water and make batter for idli.

  2. 2

    Rest the batter for 10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Heat 2 cups water in a heavy bottom pan and grease idli stand with oil.

  4. 4

    Add salt, baking powder and eno in sooji and mix gently. Pour the batter in greased idli tray.

  5. 5

    Keep the stand in boiling water and cover it. Cook for 12 minutes

  6. 6

    Check the cooked idili by inserting a knife to it. The batter should not stick to the knife.

  7. 7

    Switch off the flame. Take the idili stand out of the pan and let it cool down for about 2 minutes.

  8. 8

    Delicious and instant 'Rava Idli' are ready to be served with coconut/ peanut chutney.
