  • 1/2 lbtempeh
  • 1frying fat
  • marinade
  • 1/4 cupsoy sauce
  • 1/4 cupolive oil
  • 1/4 cupsyrup
  • 1/4 cupliquid smoke
  • 4 clovegarlic, crushed
  • 1 tbspasa foetida or garlic powder

  1. 1

    mix the marinade ingredients

  2. 2

    slice the tempeh in thin slices

  3. 3

    coat well with marinade and let it all marinate overnight (or longer) in a container

  4. 4

    heat the frying fat and shallow fry your facon in batches.

  5. 5

    use kitchen tissues to remove some of the fat

    or bake it in the oven for a fat-reduced version
