Ingredients

  1. cake
  2. 1 1/4 cupfinely chopped walnuts
  3. 1 boxDuncan Hines yellow cake mix
  4. 1 packagesinstant vanilla pudding
  5. 3/4 cupmilk
  6. 1/2 cupplus 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  7. 1/4 cupdark rum
  8. 4 largeeggs, beaten
  9. 1 tspalmond extract
  10. 1 pinchnutmeg
  11. glaze
  12. 1/2 cupbutter
  13. 1/4 cupwater
  14. 1 cupsugar
  15. 1/2 cupdark rum
  16. 1 tspalmond extract

Steps

  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease a large Bundt pan and sprinkle the nuts evenly over bottom of pan.

  2. 2

    Combine ingredients for cake, beating until just smooth.

  3. 3

    Pour batter in pan and bake 1 hour until done.

  4. 4

    in a saucepan, combine butter, water, and sugar and boil for five minutes. Stir in rum and extract.

  5. 5

    Poke small holes in top of cooled cake, and Pour glaze evenly over cake. NOT KID FRIENDLY!!!

  6. 6

    For kid-friendly version, replace rum in glaze with water or milk for a caramel. Rum in cake will Cook out.
