3/4 cupshortening
1 eachegg
1 1/2 cuppumpkin
3 1/2 cupflour
1 1/2 tspbaking powder
1 1/2 tspbaking soda
1 tspsalt
1 tspnutmeg
1 1/2 tspcinnamon
1/2 tspginger ...optional
1/2 tspcloves....optional

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Cream sugar, shortening, egg and pumpkin.

Mix in remaining ingredients. Add 1 cup nuts.
