I used to eat it alot when I was in Egypt, but when I came to the UK with my dad and my little sisters......we stopped eating it for a while because dad didnt know how to make it..... So I guessed and tried different ingredients till I prefected it.... And here it is!! :-)

Ingredients

  1. 500 grams-Pasta- any kind
  2. 500 grams- Minced Meat
  3. 1 largeonion
  4. 1/2 tsp- curry powder (optional)
  5. 1Handfull of mixed vegetables ( optional)
  6. 1Salt- as much as you like
  7. 1 3/4 tbsptomato paste
  8. SAUCE
  9. 75 gramsbutter
  10. 75 gramsFlour
  11. 1Note: Use the same amount of flour as the butter so it doesnt get lumpy
  12. 900 mlmilk
  13. 5 sliceCheddar Cheese
  14. 1 pinchthyme..... gives the sauce an amazing flavour

Cooking Instructions

    Boil the pasta.

    Add oil in a pan and start cooking the meat with the chopped onions for about 5-6 minutes.

    Add the tomato paste and mix very well.

  4. 4

    Add the curry powder if used along with the mixed vegetables.

    SCAUCE:

    Melt butter at medium heat.

  7. 7

    Add the flour a little at a time and mix quickly before it forms lumps.

    Add the milk and mix continuesly.

  9. 9

    Add slices of cheddar cheese. And keep stirring.

    Add a pinch of thyme and add as much salt as you like.

    PUT IT ALL TOGETHER:

    Pre- heat oven 180 C.

    In a rectangular glass dish add half the amount of pasta.

    Then add the minced meat and spread evenly.

    Add the other half of the pasta.

    Then, layer the whole thing with the bachemel scauce.... Make sure that you get some scauce at the edges so that the pasta isnt dry from the edges.

    Put in the oven for about 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned from the top.

    Serve with delicious salad.

Hey Im Sally Amar and I'm from Egypt but I live in the UK....I'm 14 years old and cooking is my passion, I also love trying out new things in the kitchen! :)I also love baking cakes on my little sisters birthday. usually they turn out great and delicious but other times they are burnt And I would have to start again but at least im improving :)))that's why I think that this app is gonna be really helpful.
