Weigh the ingredients correctly and set aside

Preheat the oven at 180 degrees

Prepare your baking tin and Align with parchment paper

Sift the flour, cocoa, and salt together and set aside

In a bowl mix the butter until soft then add sugar and mix until fluffy for 3mins

Add the egg and thoroughly mix, then add vanilla

In another bowl, add the food colour to bitterand stir thoroughly.

For the colour take the red colour and add 2 tbspns of water

Add flour and butter milk alternating until you end with flour

Separately combine vinegar and baking soda until it fizzes then guickily pour into the batter then fold in. Speed is of essence here

Bake for 50 mins

Insert a skewer to taste if done

If you are icing refridgerate first.
