This recipe is a popular Zulu Traditional Dish. In the olden days it was cooked in a three legged port, outside the hut. The dumpling layers were stuck around the inside of the pot, while the sauce and the meat is boiling. Today this dish can be cooked on a modern day stove, in a pressure cooker, with layers stacked up. The end result is the the same

You can use a store bought all-purpose flour dough or you can make your own

Once dough is made, set it aside to improve elasticity

Sauté Onions and green pepper

Add your cubed beef. Leave it for 5 minutes for the meat to change color.

Add your steak spices, beef stock, curry leaves, mustard seeds and continue to sauté

Once the meat is golden brown, add red peppers and cover for another 5 minutes.

Continue to cook and stir the meat until it's slighty tender

Add hot water and seemer for 15 minutes. Season to taste. While Boiling the sauce, cut your dough into miniature balls and start rolling them out and set them aside

Once the sauce is boiling and the seasoning is good. Start layering the dough and make sure each layer is covered in sauce

Once all layers are in, cover the pot and simmer until the dough is cooked.
