Easy Dirty Rice
Wanted to make dirty rice but didn't want to buy 20 diff ingredients. So I looked at what was common between all the recipes I had found and made the dish my own
Steps
- 1
Get started on rice. The directions on my rice says 2cups of water & 1 cup of rice, however, we will bring 2 cups of water & 2 cups of chicken broth to a boil then add our rice. Then return to boil and cover on simmer till tender, stirring occasionally. (Set left over broth to side for later)
- 2
In a large skillet heat a table spoon of olive oil to cook your beef in and remember you will be adding your rice to this so make sure the skillet is large enough. Then chop up half the bell pepper.
- 3
Once you get your beef browned add the chopped bell pepper. Cook for another 5 min and then add rest of chicken broth. (Don't forget about your rice)
- 4
Once your rice is done add a table spoon of butter and stir until melted. Then add your 2 Tbs of oil and season with Cajun seasoning to your liking. (Fell free adding salt)
- 5
Once broth is gone in beef add your Cajun and garlic powder to your liking.
- 6
Yah! Now just mix your meat and rice. Taste and adjust seasoning to need. Then enjoy your yummy meal.
