Ingredients

  • 1 cupfriend Moong dal soaked in water for 30 minutes
  • 1and 1/2 cups of chopped winter veggies like like carrot, cauliflower, peas, Potato, radish, brinjal, Palak
  • 1larger size Tomato chopped
  • 1 tbspchopped onion
  • 1/2 tspchopped green chilli
  • 2 tspgrated ginger
  • 1 tbspgrated or dry Coconut
  • 1tej patta broken into two
  • 2 tspCumin seeds and 1 red chilli friend and coarsely ground
  • 1/2 tspPanch phutan
  • 1 pinchhing powder
  • 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  • 1 tspdesi ghee
  • to tasteSalt
  • Oil to cook

Steps

  1. 1

    Take the veggies after cutting with Moong dal in a cooker adding salt, turmeric, cut bay leaf and chopped tomatoes

  2. 2

    Pressure cook for half whistle so everything will not be much cooked.

  3. 3

    Take cooking oil in a wok. Heat and add hing panch phutan and crackle. Add cut onion, chopped green chilli and saute till translucent.

  4. 4

    Mix the cooked Onion, grated ginger,the Dal and veggies. Bring to boiling.

  5. 5

    Switch off the flame.Mix dry or fresh grated coconut, roasted cumin powder and desi ghee.

  6. 6

    Delicious Dalma is ready. Serve hot with Rice and Roti.
