Preheat oven to 375°F.

Combine Crisco, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla in large bowl. Beat on medium until well blended. Beat egg into mixture.

Combine flour salt and baking soda, Mix into creamed mixture just until blended. Stir in chocolate chips.

Place dough balls 3" apart onto baking sheet.

Bake one sheet at a time 8-10 minutes for chewy cookies. Cook for 2 minutes then remove to cooling rack.
