Ingredients

20min + 35min
6-8 servings
  • 1 cupflour (maida/self raising)
  • 160 gsugar
  • 4 tbspfresh cream
  • 3 tbspcurd
  • 2 tspinstant coffee (preferably Nescafe)
  • 3 tbspunsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tspbaking soda (soda bi carbonate)
  • 1 tspbaking powder
  • 1 tspvanilla extract
  • 1 cupmilk
  • 1/2 cupwater (if required)
  • 1/2 cupvegetable oil

Steps

  1. 1

    Take an 8 inch round pan and grease with oil and dust with flour or cocoa powder

  2. 2

    Preheat oven to 180° C

  3. 3

    In a heat proof pan add fresh cream and sugar and stir

  4. 4

    Put on heat and leave the fresh cream mixture on till cream just begins to bubble on sides

  5. 5

    Add cocoa powder and instant coffee(optional) stir well and turn off heat and let cool down.

  6. 6

    In another bowl take sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and mix well. Add curd, oil, vanilla extract, milk and mix well

  7. 7

    Add the cocoa mixture to the flour mixture and mix well. Add water if the mixture is too thick.

  8. 8

    Pour in greased tin and place in the oven at 180°C for 35-40 mins or till a skewer inserted comes out clean.

  9. 9

    Remove the cake from the tin and let it cool at room temperature before eating.
