Great side dish that works with most seafood entrees!Use fresh chicken sausage links. You will remove the meat from the casing.

Cajuns aren't the only ones with a delicious dirty rice recipe. Try this version, not completely cuban style but I'm sure you'll love it :-)

Wanted to make dirty rice but didn't want to buy 20 diff ingredients. So I looked at what was common between all the recipes I had found and made the dish my own

I can eat this as a meal all by itself. It is also good as a side dish. You can spice it up as much as you like to your taste. #Cajun

Firstly, you may notice a difference in my recipe in contrast to the "traditional" one. Chicken giblets are bit rich for my palette and the chicken thighs to me are a better substitute and still make it "dirty". We don't have the same type of sausage (Andouille) that we get in Texas/Louisiana here in New Zealand, so the mince is a nice substitute and the shrimp (prawns)...well why not?!? Everything is better with shrimp.

A true southern yummy dish! Traditional cajun dirty rice is usually made with chicken livers and gizzards. I personally dont care for em so I use the boudain that contains a small amount of pork liver that I cant see mixed in with the sausage lol Still comes out extremely good!

My hubby likes dirty rice... but he likes tomato in it ..... very quick skillet meal. basically ground beef, onion, & rice!!!!

Great way to use up leftover rice.
