Preheat oven to 400*

measure flour and sugar. Set aside.

Medium saucepan--combine butter, water, cocoa, and shortening. Bring to a boil.

Add to flour mixture. Stir to combine.

Add buttermilk, baking soda, eggs, vanilla in order, mixing after each addition.

Pour into a greased cookie sheet.
