Salisbury Steak

Cooking Instructions
- 1
In a large bowl, combine beef, 1/4 can mushroom soup, bread crumbs, egg, onions, and steak seasoning. Mix thoroughly and shape into 4 oval patties.
- 2
Heat oil and 1 tablespoon butter in large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown patties on both sides and transfer to a plate.
- 3
Add remaining butter and cognac. Saute mushrooms for 7 to 8 minutes. Add beef stock and whisk in gravy mix until smooth. Stir in remaining mushroom soup.
- 4
Return patties to skillet and spoon gravy over top. Cover pan and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes. I like to serve with some garlic mashed potatoes or over some egg noodles or white/brown rice.

Salisbury Steak Salisbury Steak
I got this recipe a year or so ago after my stepson told me he loves frozen Salisbury meals 😣😣 and we haven't looked back since.(Using lean meat is important in this recipe as it won't produce much grease, which would make gravy greasy) queen_kaitlin -

Salisbury Steak Salisbury Steak
This is a family favorite that makes a nice hardy meal for a crisp fall evening or a cold winter day. I typically double or triple the recipe to get a couple of meals in the freezer for a quick slow cooker meal on an overbooked day.betsy.hudson

No real story here. Just my own version of a long-time classic. The patties should turn out nice and thick, and bursting with flavor StephieCanCook -
